Justin Shea - Founding Principal
Justin is a designer, architect, and builder. His aesthetic and technical precision were honed in Rhode Island while working in his fathers glass shop, repairing motorcycles and experimenting with sculptural form. Craft and ingenuity remain central to his creative process.
Prior to founding Studio Shea, Justin was a Project Manager at Snøhetta where he led innovative projects throughout North America. He is a licensed architect in the State of New York and received his Masters of Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Justin's work has received awards and international recognition in the US, Canada, England and Japan. He has lectured in the US and Europe and has been an invited critic at Columbia University, MIT, MassArt, Wentworth Institute of Technology, New York Institute of Technology and the University of Stuttgart, and has taught the Community Build Program at MassArt.
